The local media
continues to pay close attention to UNB labour relations:
- “UNB, union make some progress,” Heather McLaughlin, The Daily Gleaner (Apr. 22/10, A6).
- “Teachers, UNB seek outside help to reach deal,” Heather McLaughlin, The Daily Gleaner (Apr. 20/10, A3).
- “UNB contract talks continue,” Times & Transcript (Apr. 20/10, A6).
FYI to the headline-writers at the Gleaner: The entity known as UNB includes the teachers (and librarians and researchers) and their unions. Some, though admittedly not all, would say integrally. Academic unions engage in contract talks with administrations. Administrations or “management teams,” as one hears so many of them prefer to be called these days. Both groups, along with many others, make up the university.
