It’s a full-scale campaign, people.

Aren't June weddings lovely? Two pieces in the T-J yesterday; two more today. And none of them make a coherent case as to why NBCCSJ and UNBSJ should have a shotgun wedding. It’s like nothing so much as a group of nightmare parents and relatives: when are you two going to get married? When are you going to give me any grandchildren?

To continue this somewhat tasteless extended metaphor: NBCC and UNBSJ have been shacking up for years, off and on. Sure, we see other people; we aren’t exclusive. And we like it that way. We’re all consenting adults who can make their own decisions, who have their own plans and agendas.

We don’t need anyone else’s agenda.

So if you want children, have your own.

    I have to ask …

Is this the same as the *our [UNBSJ’s] soon-to-be established energy institute* from April 2007? [http://www.gnb.ca/CPSE-CEPS/FR/docs/UNBSJ.pdf]

The TJ reported today that the Liberal caucus supports the idea of expanding UNB Saint John and NBCC at their existing campuses.

It must have been difficult for the paper to cover this – their Liberal Party and the polytechnic-pushing business crowd disagreeing must make it hard to know which agenda should be pushed.
