This just in.
I mean, this just out:
To: Faculty and Staff Members, Fredericton and Saint John Campuses
Subject: Nomination of Eddy Campbell as President
As Chair of the joint meeting of the Saint John and Fredericton Senates and the Board of Governors held on March 11, I am pleased to announce that a majority of the Senators and Board members present approved the nomination of Eddy Campbell as the University of New Brunswicks next president and vice-chancellor. The nomination now will go forward to the Lieutenant Governor In Council for approval of the appointment.
Subject to government approval of the appointment, Dr. Campbell will become UNBs 18th president and vice-chancellor when John McLaughlin retires later in 2009 after seven years in the position.
This brings the work of the Joint Nominating Committee for the office of President to a conclusion. The Committee extends its thanks to the members of the University community for their participation in and support of the search process through attendance at meetings and provision of comments and advice. The Committee is pleased with the high quality of the oral and written submissions received. This input was most helpful in guiding the search process and in the assessment of candidates.
