The Rose Campaign to End Violence Against Women & Girls

This rose commemorates December 6, Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Canada needs a coordinated national action plan that ensures women can leave violent situations, establish safe homes, and raise children, without falling into poverty. Homeless women are never safe. Canada’s plan needs:

  • emergency shelter for women wherever they live
  • safe, long-term housing
  • child care women can afford
  • secure incomes for women

Violence against women is unacceptable whenever and wherever it occurs.

Dear Friends:

YWCA Canada’s Rose Campaign calls for a national action plan on violence against women and girls. Visit to send your MP a virtual rose that tells the federal government it’s time to create lasting change for women in this country.

On December 6 we remember the women who have died and re-commit to taking action because Canada is not yet a safe country for women. Over 50% of Canadian women experience violence at some point in their lives, the majority before they turn 25.

We need to re-think violence against women. You can make a difference with a click. Forward this email to friends, family and co-workers. Ask them to visit and our Facebook page.

Be the change.
