Looking at the sea of blue washing over NB, I cannot help but think that our provincial politicians should take note.

Could it not be that their actions here at home were as important, if not more important, in shaping the vote as anything their federal counterparts might have done?  The provincial Liberals have certainly done more in the past 18 months to alienate large numbers of New Brunswickers than have the federal Liberals.

It seems clear that the provincial Liberals are on thin ice with the electorate.  Lucky for them, the federal party paid the price–this time.

    Exactly.

Ironic, isn’t it? Particularly as the provincial Liberals would seem to have so much more in common with Herr Harper and Co. than with the federal Liberals (at least in their current incarnation. If Ignatieff gets the nod all bets are off).

But in case anyone out there thinks speculation about the possible effect of N.B. Liberal policies on the federal election is just a sign of crankiness, no less a source than the CBC wondered the same thing.
