Opposite George would vote.

October 13, 2008

“It was a bit of a Seinfeld election at the start, it was an election about nothing and now it has become an election about something,” said [pollster Darrell] Bricker.

Remember, voters who are not registered can still register at the poll. The Elections Canada website explains the details and lists electoral districts. Here are the N.B. districts, and here is Saint John.

Canadian voter participation has dropped, and young people have the lowest voter turnout of all. Some of the candidates certainly treat youth as if they were unimportant. But maybe this year young people will refuse, as Rick Mercer urges, to take “no” for an answer.

Mercer on politicians’ view of university students: “You could be on fire for all they care.”

So let’s show them some fire, then.
