Came across the following rather startling title: “English degrees will land jobs: B.C expert“:

One hundred years ago, it was the industrial revolution that saw workers leaving farms and heading to factories. Fifty years ago, those factory jobs were replaced by jobs in the service sector. And now the information revolution, with its high-tech computers, has turned the ideal employee into a person with skills like the ability to understand, synthesize and analyze information, said Nancy Johnston, senior director of student learning and retention at Simon Fraser University.

There is still room in my 18thc lit. course that starts next week …
