He cites instances in B.C., Saskatchewan, and of course Newfoundland and Labrador: “Those are just a few of the examples of what some academics believe to be an assault on the historic autonomy of universities, a tradition that usually elevates universities above political decisions.” And at the end of the article, Lyse Huot of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada hints darkly that we don’t know the half of it.
