As those on campus will have noticed, the petition has been taken down from the wall in the walkway between Hazen Hall and Ward Chipman Library. It was getting pretty bedraggled despite the best efforts of passersby to replace the sheets as they fell down. We talked to Dr. Hamer and she agrees that some photos — something more substantial than almost a thousand pieces of paper and sticky-tack! — would make a nice addition to that now sadly bare wall. Soooo, we thought we’d throw it open and have a photo contest. There were scads of photos taken of the marches and demonstrations in the fall; do you have any favourites? If so, let us know here in the comments (with a link, preferably) and after a week or so, a panel of distinguished experts will make the final cut. Then a final vote, some running around getting photos printed and framed, and voila! There will be a half-dozen or so of people’s favourite photos commemorating the movement to save UNBSJ hanging there for all to see. Feel free to nominate your own photos or the photos of others; send in links to any online depositories we have missed; and send in any original photos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
