Coincidentally
2007 November 5
(seeing as how I just got back from a conference which explored the ways in which governments and corporations compromise academic research), just saw this story on the CBC site: “Government thwarted scientists looking at high cancer rates in northeast N.B.: Health Department asked researchers to drop talk of ‘environmental contamination’” (Nov 5/07). Here’s the punchline: “A private contractor is now collecting data in the area and the province will do the analysis itself.”
